What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese word en is pronounced as ‘Ray-Key’

Rei is defined as Universal Life
Ki means ‘energy’
Reiki is The Universal Life Giving Energy.
Reiki
is a method of transferring universal life-giving energy for the harmony of the
body, mind and soul.
It addresses both the cause and the effect of illness.
It is transferred by gently placing the hands on your own body or that of
another person.
No
religious philosophy is necessary to do Reiki, although it is thought of as a
spiritual system.
People of varying philosophical views, ages and life circumstances can practise
this loving art.
Reiki is the Universal Unconditional Love
The
experience in both receiving and giving the Reiki Energy is one of deep
relaxation and an inner peace.
The heart is opened to receive and give love.
We are returned to a state of compassionate grace, the more we use this energy
for self-treatment and the treatment of others.
It is
safely used any time, any place and for anything
You
can never use or give too much Reiki
It is
100% safe, effective and gentle and does not intrude upon a person.
It is
a perfect complement to all therapies and all forms of natural healing.
Together with BodyTalk it works towards a complete balance in body, mind and
spirit.
Once
initiated the Reiki Energy is always active.
Reiki is a very old system
that was re-discovered in the late 19th century by a man named Mikao
Usui.
He was passionate about discovering how a
person could be healed by touch and it became his life-long quest.
He studied the Tibetan sutras and after a spiritual practice of meditation and
fasting he had a deeply moving experience and his initiation on
Mount
Kurama.
As a result of this process he discovered the way to transfer this energy and
began his own individual journey helping others and initiating others to become
Reiki practitioners and eventually Reiki Masters so they could be able to
initiate others into the wonderful world of Reiki.
It is
important to understand that you can become a Reiki practitioner by an
initiation process that is carried our personally by a Reiki Master.
The beauty of this system is that the personal contact and sharing wisdom are
wonderful steps you take on your own personal journey of self-developing.
The Master is a support for you and has a kind of mentor task.
Nowadays Reiki is taught by
many Masters all over the world who follow the same philosophy, system and
symbols as Mikao Usui.
Diveded in three major steps, Reiki 1, Reiki 2, and Reiki 3/Master
It is my deep wish that every person on this planet who is able to send Reiki with symbols to send the healing Reiki Energy to the land of the Dalai Lama: Tibet.... on the first day of every month, starting 01-01-2005.....

Reiki 1:
Four
of the energy centre, the chakra’s will be activated (initiated)
The
heart chakra, opens the heart for unconditional love
The
throat chakra, for developing trust and the subconscious mind
The
third eye chakra, for developing the intuition
The
crown chakra for receiving the vibrations of the Reiki Energy
Once activated, the Reiki Energy will always be present and can be used at any time for yourself and others simply by placing the hands on your own or somebody else’s body.
In the Reiki I course, you will be learned how to work on yourself and others and several hand positions will be explained.
Reiki 2:
During the Reiki 2 course, the energy centre in the hands will be activated and three of the symbols will be explained with which Usui worked so efficiently.
In
this course, the new symbols will be practiced a lot in order to get them
completely under control.
It is also possible to send Reiki through space, no matter the distance and this
will be taught as well during Reiki 2.
This course included a personal and spiritual development on all kind of levels and you will never be the same again after experiencing this Reiki 2.
Reiki 3:
The Mastersdegree is not easy to explain, it is more an intense course about living up to Usui's philosophy and knowing the responsibilities towards pupils than learning the last but absolutely not least symbol, the Master symbol.
Between the Reiki courses there must be a considered period of practicing and
spiritual growth before the next step can be taken.
It is not just something you do, Reiki is never just something you learn.
Reiki is a way of living with all kind of enriching consequences for your
personality.
Reiki 3a is divided in 3 workshops involving relaxation and meditation techniques from Mikao Usui, different hand positions and the specific effects - cranial therapy - yin/yang - chakra's and the meridians.
If you wish to continue the Reiki 3b path you get all kind of additional information about e.g. gemstones, colours, sounds, Reiki for the Soul and of course you will learn all about being a true Reiki Master.
Gaia's ABC courses:
My philosophy is quite simple, spreading the Reiki Energy by teaching people to
help themselves and others with this Universal Energy.
I prefer to teach a small and motivated group of (max 4) people with which we
can have a rather intense course in order to be able to support and give the
necessary personal attention to them.
My idea of being a master includes the responsibility of supporting pupils and
the possibility of communicating through e-mail makes this more than easy.

If Reiki is so complete and simple and 100% effective why …
Are
there so many new systems developed?
*Through the ages there have always been developments and this is always
positive because without this, Dr. Usui would never had the strong urge to find
this method in the first place.
Why
combined with BodyTalk?
*The co-operation with BodyTalk appears to be very positive because it is all
about touching the body and the moment Reiki is involved, the energy flows
immediately, BodyTalk is about priorities and Reiki is the extra motor behind
the end result.
Why
combined with Astrology in the
ABC courses?
*In my courses I will always use the astrological knowledge simply to be able to
give more insights about your own abilities and restrictions. Astrology is all
about personal insights and with them one can grow on all levels.
Why
are there ‘new’ and ‘better’ Reiki courses?
*After many years of experience, some people might get new insights about using
their Reiki more effective and they call this ‘new Reiki’ but Reiki is and will
always be about “giving the Universal Energy” no matter what you add, or how you
call it.
Why
is Reiki such a money business?
*Dr. Usui’s philosophy was spiritual and all about helping others, not about
making money but in these days people sometimes seem to forget about the basic
ideas and use this method for their own benefit more than for the benefit of
others. Of course there is an exchange of energy called money but this should
always be related to the time spent and not to the qualification one gets (or
buys).
Most important are the five spiritual principles
of Mikao Usui and they are something to keep in mind
for ever:
Just for today, I will let go of anger
Just for today, I will let go of worry
Today, I will count my many blessings
Today, I will do my work honestly
Today, I will be kind to every living creature.
